Validity of Visa Applications

Please note that applications are not considered to be valid applications until the day they are received at the processing office. For most applications lodged at an AVAC, this will be the next working day. However, if you lodge a visa application at an AVAC after 12pm and the application needs to be transferred to a processing office in a different city, it will not be received at the processing office until the second following working day.

For most visa applications lodged outside Australia, it is a requirement that the applicant be outside Australia at the time an application is received by the processing office.
