Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of academic results and a reference from the school. Where academic results do not allow for differentiation between applicants, resumes or curriculum vitae will be considered.

Canning College’s Certificate IV students progressing into the College’s Diploma of Commerce course may apply for a Diploma award on the basis of their Certificate IV results.

The closing dates for all scholarship applications will be 27th November 2009 (for February 2010 entry courses) and 21st May 2010 (for July 2010 entry courses). Successful applications will be advised two-four weeks after the closing date(s).

Certificate IV Scholarships

Four (4) scholarships to the value of A$2,500 each are being offered to top students commencing the Certificate IV course in January or July 2010 with two (2) allocated to each intake.

To be awarded a full scholarship requires a student to have achieved outstanding academic results. This would normally require the student to have achieved strong grades in at least four (4) subjects.

Students will be required to complete an International Student Application Form and an International Scholarship Application Form (2010).

College staff will not offer these scholarships during promotional visits.

Additional documentation required:

1. Actual or mock/forecast/preliminary results for major examinations equivalent to Year 11 in Western Australia.

2. Two (2) most recent school reports.

3. Curriculum Vitae or resume.

Diploma of Commerce Scholarships

Eleven (11) scholarships to the value of A$3,000 each are being offered with the following allocations:

  • Feb 2010 intake: One (1) for UWA Stream, Two (2) for Curtin Stream
  • Jul 2010 intake: Three (3) for UWA Stream, Five (5) for Curtin Stream

This award would normally require the student to have achieved strong grades in at least two (2) subjects.

Students will be required to complete an International Student Application Form and an International Scholarship Application Form (2010).

College staff will not offer these scholarships during promotional visits.
