[HOT] Extend Visa 485 duration for critical industry sectors

The Visa 485, also known as the Temporary Graduate Visa, is a type of temporary visa granted to graduates from accredited Australian educational institutions. Recently, the Department of Education has announced a list of industry groups eligible for an extension of the Visa 485 duration after graduation.

To meet the labor shortages in certain industries in Australia, the duration of Visa 485 for graduates in these fields will be extended as follows:

– Bachelor’s degree: from 2 to 4 years.

– Master’s degree: from 3 to 5 years.

– Doctorate/Research degree (PhD): from 4 to 6 years.

Before July 1, 2023, the Department of Education will release a more comprehensive list of eligible courses.
