If you are interested in the fields of health, science & society, and education for your journey to study abroad in Australia, learn immediately about the CASPER test (Computer-Based Assessment for Sampling Personal Characteristics) – One of the important entrance tests. Especially for those interested in psychology in general and education in particular, many GO8 schools in Australia have now begun to apply and widely deploy this test to initially assess the necessary skills and psychology of international students pursuing these majors.

Casper is a situational analysis test with open questions Situational Judgment Test – SJT: Considered a form of asking questions that simulate highly realistic hypothetical situations in the working environment, some Questions candidates will encounter include: “What would you do in this situation?”, “What is the best response in this situation”?..etc…

The Casper test is a “measure” of a candidate’s flexibility, sensitivity, ability to handle situations, etc. when facing the challenges they encounter while working in their field in the future. Accordingly, candidates also need to explain their thoughts, actions, and desires regarding their decisions in the Casper test.

WHAT DOES THE CASPER TEST REFLECT?

The Casper test aims to prove that students who want to pursue health sciences such as psychology and education not only need to have a solid knowledge base, but students also need to possess personal qualities, good ethics, and a strong mentality to face difficult and challenging situations when working in their chosen field. One of the necessary factors to help them be more successful in this noble profession in the future.

Research has demonstrated that Casper is a reliable test and predicts success in the initial assessment of students’ basic standards. The scores obtained from this test can help schools better understand each student and thereby select the most potential candidates.

CASPER TEST STRUCTURE: The test is divided into 2 parts

Video response section:

  • There are 2 word-based scenarios and 4 video-based scenarios.

Typing response section:

  • There are 3 word-based scenarios and 5 video-based scenarios.

Each video feedback scenario has two open-ended questions that will need to be presented one at a time, with students having 1 minute to take notes on each answer.

Each feedback scenario for the typing section has 3 open-ended questions presented, students have a total of 5 minutes to answer all 3 questions.

CASPER TEST FORMAT

The Casper test takes about 90-110 minutes and is structured in 12 parts: 8 hypothetical video situations and 4 hypothetical situations described in words. Contestants will not be able to predict situations that may occur. The test will give you a 10-minute break between question sections.

HOW TO CALCULATE CASPER TEST SCORE

Each part of the Casper test is evaluated by different experts. This helps ensure that the test will be independently evaluated by experts, meaning that the frequency of scoring candidates will not be more than once.

This process is intended to help minimise the subjective biases that an evaluator may bring to candidates through the situations, objects, or incidents that candidates have responded to, ensuring that each candidate is evaluated fairly and accurately.

All evaluators are highly trained in their knowledge and can ignore spelling, accent or grammar errors when evaluating answers. However, we recommend that you avoid using any slang or phrases that may not be widely understood to ensure that you will have the best chance of getting your ideas across to the examiner.

After 2-3 weeks from the test date, Casper test scores will automatically be sent directly to the school the student has registered to attend. After that, the school will update scores on each individual student’s application on the system. You will not receive your Casper results directly but will know the ranking results compared to your peers.

Casper is an online test, we recommend you register for the test at least 03 days before the test date to have time to prepare by checking the system requirements and taking sample tests.
