Western Sydney University – Start-up Competition for Highschool students 2024
We are now in the era of smart technology, where artificial intelligence has become an important factor in life and career. However, it is undeniable that the development of artificial intelligence also comes with risks and challenges that we must face. With the desire to help the future generation of students take advantage of the potential of artificial intelligence to build a bright and sustainable future for the community, the competition operated by Western Sydney University will be a lively playground for high school students to unleash their creativity in the colorful world of technology.
The theme of WSU’s competition is: “How can we use AI to create positive, sustainable social change?”
This is an important and challenging topic, aiming to encourage high school students to learn and contribute ideas, thereby providing many creative solutions suitable for applying AI to solve current social problems.
About Western Sydney University’s The Competition
The competition, organized by Western Sydney University, will equip students with a solid foundation in the principles and applications of AI in many practical fields such as healthcare, education, transportation, agriculture, environment, etc., and then apply them in practice.
In the competition, students will work in groups of 4 students (from different classes and schools). Expert mentors, participants who propose new ideas for a sustainable future, will help you present your ideas. Solutions may include; technology, startups, campaigns, policies and regulations, education programs or other ideas to address sustainable development goals.
Students will also have the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with other students who share the same passion and interest in technology and innovative startups. This not only expands knowledge and awareness, but also helps build an important network of connections in the field.
What will students get when participating?

- Leadership & Teamwork: Build leadership skills while working in teams
- Learn new skills: The opportunity to interact with many professional advisors in the industry helps you hone the necessary skills when you are passionate about the technology field.

Register (by team) as soon as possible, before 31/5/2024 (registration will close when the team reaches 200 members).
The competition not only provides students with a platform to express their creative ideas but also offers many attractive prizes. There will be 40 teams in the finals, 6 national prizes, 2 first prizes, each worth more than 50 million VND. The prizes for each member of the winning team include
- First prize: Technology package
iPad Pro, AirPods, Apple Pen and a free online course on Coursera Plus. - Second prize: Kindle Paperwhite Gen 11
- People’s Choice prize: Airpods Pro Gen 2
In addition, all participants will have the opportunity to receive badges and electronic certificates. There will be 40 teams in the finals, 6 national prizes, 2 first prizes, each worth more than 50 million VND.
