However, Monash University recommends that you take the MTeST at the same time, even if you already have your Casper results. This will maximise your chances of receiving an offer if you did not previously meet the Casper entry requirements, or vice versa.

MTeST TEST FORMAT AND RESULTS

The MTeST test is free, taken online and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. The test consists of 07 open-ended questions with a time limit of 02 minutes for each question. You will receive a notification when you have 30 seconds left to complete each question, the answers will be listed in 3 keywords or a short paragraph.

Please note that you will not receive a score for the MTeST, as it is intended for internal assessment purposes only, similar to a job interview. Once completed, Monash University will take approximately three weeks to process your results.

THE QUALITIES YOU NEED TO SHOW

The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) outlines the common characteristics and motivations of effective teachers. The purpose of the test is for candidates to demonstrate that they have the following abilities to meet the non-academic entry requirements for initial teacher training.
